Still getting up very early...thinking positively...just gives us more time to enjoy the pace and the ambiance. Weather forecast was for a lovely morning and more rain this afternoon. So...off for our walk, in a different direction by 7 AM. At the Ko Olina entrance by the golf course is a beautifully designed waterfall feature...so off we went for me to get my requisite picture of the day. Lots of pods dropped by the Monkeypod trees and puddles from last night's rain made for a slippery walk but the day was beautiful and the pictures worth it.
On the way back, we walked through the new Disney Resort which is very Disneyesque (surprise!)....Hawaiian music in the background, winding pool, artificial volcano with water slide running through it; you get the picture. Well maintained, perfect for families and quiet early in the AM. Walked back 'home' along the lagoons and lucky to see an endangered Hawaiian Monk Seal taking his morning nap on the beach.
Lunch on the balcony and the weather is glorious. So after a meeting with a timeshare rep ( which earned us 15,000 Marriott points and got some of our questions about the new program answered), it was Pool Time! Carolina blue sky....not a cloud in sight! Frozen drinks and another relaxing afternoon. The Hawaiian Welcome show at 5 pm....wonderful dancers, traditional chants as the sun was starting to go down, torch lighting... We've seen it all before but it is always fun and I enjoy seeing the children react to the show.
Dinner in tonight followed by ice cream desserts from the marketplace. We got a phone call from the company with whom we booked a sunset sail for tomorrow telling us that they had to cancel due to 'mechanical problems' :(. But, wait, not only did they book us on the Waikiki sailing but are providing free transportation ( about 45 minutes each way and we really would not have wanted to drive, park, and deal with the horrible Honolulu traffic).
