Walked the full length of the trail to return to our place to get ready to drive to Honolulu (about 40 minutes) to meet Art's cousin and his wife for lunch at the Museum of Art Cafe. Robert sent us very clear directions which far exceeded the accuracy of our GPS (which kept telling us to 'turn around when possible'). I think that she had indigestion and kept burping :) We made it to the museum parking lot recommended as our first option and met 2 couples headed to the Cafe, too. Fortunately, they knew exactly how to get there so we tagged along with our personal guides. Agnes met us at the check-in desk and took us right in to the Cafe (great service!). Robert joined us there and we enjoyed several hours of sharing and reminiscing, including pictures that Agnes brought and Facebook pictures that Art shared of our family. Lunch was delicious; we had a wonderful time. After lunch we wandered through the Chinese section of the museum, enjoying the beautiful antiquities and then left to find our way out of Honolulu during heavy rush hour traffic. After a few missteps, we finally got back to KoOlina!
After a big lunch, we decided to cancel our plans for dinner and instead finished our leftovers from a few days ago and will go out tomorrow night. The real upside was that I was able to enjoy a spectacular sunset from my favorite spot on our beach. Two nights in a row---perfect sunsets. This time including palm tress.
