Well, you might have guessed it! My ploy to avoid jet lag did NOT work. For some reason, going west is more difficult for us than going east. We fell asleep about 9;30 last night...was up at 2:30, 3:30 and finally both of us were up and checking email, etc about 4:30. So much for trying to beat the game.
After breakfast....thank goodness for strong coffee...we went for our usual early morning walk along the lagoons to the JW Marriott at the end of the path then explored a bunch of new shops that had been built in the KoOlina development since we were here last. So glad to know that now we can pick up the necessaries (wine, beer, tee shirts, etc.) without the car! And at very good prices, especially for Hawaii. Some of the wine was the same price as at home ( gotta set those priorities).
Decided to do a Costco run to stock the larder for the week...and had the sick feeling that something was wrong with our car...aloud, fluttering noise that, at first, sounded like a flat tire, then appeared to be connected to the AC or some other engine part that had a belt. Fortunately, Costco is very close by so after buying out the store, we made it home by turning the AC off and then back on ( at which point, it seemed to be working OK). Oh, forgot to say that, of course, there was no car manual in the glove compartment. Art called the car rental place! They were very nice. Told him that if it started us again, they would come out with another car ( gave Art his name a req. number for the complaint). Tune in later in the week for the next chapter :)
Lovely lunch on the balcony followed by a couple of relaxing hours by the pool and naps! Such is life in the fast lane.
Stunningly beautiful! I understand your desire to return to this paradise.
